Magnetism and Astronomical Infrared Spectrum of Fullerene C<sub>60</sub> and Void Induced Graphene Molecules

Magnetism of fullerene C60 was studied by three methods the density functional theory (DFT) calculation, laboratory experiment and astronomical observation. DFT revealed that most stable spin state non-magnetic one Sz=0/2. This is contrary to our recent study on void induced graphene molecules C23 C53 be magnetic Sz=2/2. Two combined model suggested two up-spin at every carbon pentagon ring may cancel each other bring Similar cancelation occur C60. Molecular vibrational infrared spectrum show four major bands, which coincide with gas-phase experiment, also astronomically observed rich planetary nebula Tc1 Lin49. However, there remain many unidentified bands one. We supposed multiple voids sheet, create both complex molecules. It molecule coincident well bands. Simple sum could successfully reproduce in detail.
